Scholar Voices
Our scholars come from across Asia. They share one thing: a belief that leadership belongs to everyone, and a responsibility to use it.
"The Ching Tien Foundation is far more than a scholarship program — it is a community that believes in me, supports me, and inspires me to become the best version of myself."
"The Foundation gave me the tools to walk into any room with confidence. Leadership is not a destination — it is a daily practice of service."
"The Ching Tien Foundation made the impossible possible — and then asked me to pay it forward. That is the most powerful thing any organisation has ever done for me."

Legal Structure
The Ching Tien Foundation for Women is incorporated in Hong Kong as a company limited by guarantee under the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622). Our Hong Kong registration anchors us to the city we were founded to serve — the gateway between Asia's emerging leaders and the world.
Hong Kong's status as Asia's international hub makes it the natural home for a foundation committed to developing leaders across the region. Our governance is overseen by a board of directors drawn from Hong Kong's legal, business, and civil society communities, with advisors based across Asia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
A volunteer board of seven directors — spanning law, finance, education, and social enterprise — provides independent oversight. Annual accounts are audited by an independent Hong Kong-registered firm.
Our Canadian registration enables tax-deductible donations in Canada. We are actively pursuing equivalent charitable status in Hong Kong under the Inland Revenue Ordinance (s.88), with an expected recognition date of Q2 2027.
We publish annual impact reports, audited financials, and board minutes on our website. Every dollar donated is traceable to a named program, scholar, or operational cost — no exceptions.
Strategic Vision 2027–2030
The first twenty years proved the model. The next decade is about scale — reaching more women, in more countries, with deeper impact. These are the directions we are building toward.
Our scholars have historically come from East and South Asia. We are actively building partnerships with universities and civil society organisations in Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand to open the programs to Southeast Asian women for the first time by 2027.
A permanent physical home in Hong Kong — a dedicated space for leadership workshops, alumni gatherings, cross-sector dialogue, and mentorship sessions. We are in the feasibility stage, evaluating locations in Wan Chai and Kowloon that reflect our connection to the city.
A scholar-seeded micro-grant fund, governed by alumni, that provides seed capital to Giving Back Projects in progress. Our vision: past scholars funding future scholars — compounding impact across generations.
A structured pathway for Hong Kong and regional corporations to sponsor scholars, host Giving Back Projects, and engage with alumni as future talent. Three anchor corporate partners are in active discussion for a pilot launch in 2027.
A members-only digital platform for current scholars and alumni — connecting a growing global community of Ching Tien women, hosting on-demand leadership content, and matching mentors with scholars across time zones.
Our most ambitious goal: 100 active scholars enrolled simultaneously across all three programs by 2030. Achieving this requires tripling our endowment and building a sustainable recurring-donor community across Asia, Canada, and the diaspora.
Make a Difference
Every contribution enables us to identify, support, and equip the next generation of women leaders from Asia. A scholarship changes not one life — it changes communities.
